Job description

Terumo Aortic is currently looking to recruit a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our Engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop and build your career with a global organization while making a real difference.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  1. Continually review all manufacturing processes to document, measure, refine, and improve process capability and effectiveness.
  2. Identify and implement continuous improvement programs to achieve cost savings aligned with manufacturing objectives.
  3. Liaise with relevant departments on the transfer of new products into manufacturing, ensuring all specifications and packaging materials are available.
  4. Maintain thorough knowledge of FMEA and DOE processes.
  5. Develop, initiate, and manage the implementation of ECOs to address product quality, cost, and design issues.
  6. Ensure appropriate manufacturing testing and validation are performed on materials and processes, confirming the 'fit and function' of products.
  7. Generate drawings when required and review/approve artwork to ensure correct implementation.
  8. Conduct root cause investigations in response to product defects.
  9. Analyze and approve corrective actions to address quality issues.
  10. Monitor field responses to confirm the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  11. Identify cost-saving opportunities in materials and processes; plan and perform testing to validate changes; document and implement these changes.
  12. Assess opportunities for transferring product manufacturing within the company or to Contract Manufacturers.
  13. Facilitate transfer of manufacturing process knowledge and technology for production relocation.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • HND or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Relevant experience in a high-quality manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of process engineering and process maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently, analyze problems, and develop action plans.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
