Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a qualified Manufacturing Process Engineer to optimize transformer production processes, drive standardization, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. You will guide process changes with a focus on quality, efficiency, and compliance across manufacturing steps.

You will mentor team members, develop clear procedures, and collaborate with quality and lean teams to reduce defects, improve cycle times, and ensure Design for Manufacturing integration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience assembling active parts within manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership at a Co-Boss level (internal candidates).
  • Strong quality assurance and control experience with quality improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in developing manufacturing procedures and SOPs.
  • Experience in process standardization and optimization.
  • Ability to identify and resolve process issues effectively.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Transformer manufacturing: understand drawings, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Leadership: act as Co-Boss, mentoring and training team members.
  • Quality Management: implement QA/QC measures and lead improvements.
  • Manufacturing Procedures: develop clear, compliant procedures and SOPs.
  • Process Standardization: standardize processes for consistency and excellence.
  • Identify weaknesses and develop innovative productivity improvements.
  • Share and implement best practices in transformer manufacturing.
  • Transfer designs and processes to Production with DFM principles.
  • RCA and resolution of process issues; act as first-line production support.
  • Participate in manufacturing quality gate reviews and continuous improvement projects.

Job Description Summary

We are seeking a qualified Manufacturing Process Engineer with expertise in manufacturing processes to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the efficiency and quality of our manufacturing processes, spearheading process standardization, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. This role demands strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of manufacturing procedures, and the ability to drive innovative solutions for process optimization.

Job Description Key Responsibilities
  • Transformer manufacturing: Demonstrate proficiency in manufacturing processes with a comprehensive understanding of drawings, manufacturing procedures, and work instructions.
  • Leadership: Serve at a Co-Boss level (internal candidates), mentoring and training team members to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Quality Management: Implement quality assurance and control measures to maintain high standards. Lead initiatives for quality improvement across manufacturing processes.
  • Manufacturing Procedures: Develop and write clear, compliant, and efficient manufacturing procedures, including work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Process Standardization: Standardize processes to ensure consistency and operational excellence across all assembly activities.
  • Problem Identification and Resolution: Identify weaknesses in current processes and develop innovative solutions to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Best Practices Sharing: Share and implement best practices within the transformer industry to foster continuous improvement.
  • Training and mentoring people to execute manufacturing task at high quality and efficiency level Transfer to Production: Introduce new designs and processes to manufacturing, ensuring Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles are integrated.
  • RCA and Resolution of Process Issues: Collaborate with quality teams to conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and resolve process issues. Act as the first line of support for production issues and elevate systemic or repeated issues as necessary.
  • Manufacturing Quality Gate Reviews: Support and participate in manufacturing quality gate reviews to ensure quality and process adherence.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with lean teams, participating in lean/kaizen projects focused on defect reduction and process stability.
Qualifications
