Our client, a Defence and Security supplier, is looking for a Manufacturing/Process Engineer to join them on a contract basis at their site in Farnborough.

Our client, a Defence and Security supplier, is looking for a Manufacturing/Process Engineer to join them on a contract basis at their site in Farnborough.
- Due to the nature of the role, applicants must hold to sole British nationality and be willing to obtain full SC Clearance.
- Fully onsite in Farnborough.
- 6 month initial contract.
- Inside IR35, competitive market rates.
- Experience of MRP System roll-out and/or upgrade of existing system for a production/repair environment.
- Experience creating and implementing BOMs working with Engineering and shop-floor staff to ensure successful completion.
- Ensure design of assembly/test cells are efficient to maximise productivity and minimise waste.
- Ensure all Work Instructions are available, and staff are correctly trained maintaining a training matrix to demonstrate this.
- Develop and/or implement shop floor layout for optimised assembly/test of product.
- Provide technical support and ensure optimum producibility of products entering production, including contributions at design reviews, approval of design changes.
- Ensure all tooling and assembly fixtures are available and within calibration.
- Develop, adapt and institutionalise advanced process improvement tools to most effectively carry out assignments and meet objectives.
- Coordinate manufacturing plans for all hardware in conjunction with production planning and control resource.
- As authorized, interface with the customer, suppliers or other external parties on technical issues that impact manufacturing. Will be called upon to assist in solving complex production problems in his/her area of expertise with both customers and suppliers.
- Direct and coordinate building or modification of complex equipment to ensure conformance with engineering design, involving the writing of detailed Work Instructions.
- Training of shop floor staff against established product work instructions and processes.
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role.
- Excellent IT skills with sound knowledge of MS Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project etc).
- Must have good knowledge of DMAIC, 8D and VBSS Lead techniques.
- Good knowledge of configuration control and documentation control systems such as Oracle, Epicore Vantage, Windchill.
- Requires strong knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. Typically viewed as having a specialty within discipline.
- Involvement with or lead of Kaizen activity in a production environment.
- VBSS Black Belt or Green Belt certification would be desirable.
- May have broad knowledge of project management.
- HNC/HND and a minimum of 10 years prior experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
