Vibe Recruit is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer with a strong background in manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, process optimisation and project delivery within a precision engineering/fabrication environment. You will drive operational efficiency, improve production methods, and support new product introductions.

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Strong production and project engineering skills spanning concept to implementation.
  • Experience designing tooling, jigs, fixtures and writing engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Process Development, Design & Change Implementation to improve standard times and repeatability.
  • Identify and implement new manufacturing technologies and automation solutions.
  • Develop project plans for process improvements, NPI, and technology deployment.
  • Define specifications for production tooling and fixtures.
  • Validate processes to meet quality and production targets; mitigate risks.
  • Drive sustainability by reducing waste and improving energy efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, QA and Procurement.
  • Document processes and provide training for adoption.

Job description

Manufacturing Process Engineer

Due to continued growth and expansion, a leading manufacturer of precision engineered products and equipment, supplied to a range of sectors, now have an opening for an experienced Manufacturing Engineering professional.

You will need a strong background in manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, process optimisation, and project delivery, within a pecision engineering/fabrication environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving operational efficiency, improving production methods, supporting new product introductions, and identifying opportunities to enhance quality, productivity, and cost performance.

This is a key role within the business and the ability and experience to evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and automation solutions is required.

Key Tasks
  • Process Development, Design & Change Implementation - Implement, design, and improve manufacturing processes to enhance standard times, repeatability, and scalability.
  • Technology & Process Innovation - Identify, evaluate, and implement new manufacturing technologies, automation solutions, and advanced fabrication techniques.
  • Project Planning & Change Management - Develop structured project plans for process improvements, new product introduction (NPI), and technology implementation.
  • Engineering Specifications & Technical Communication - Define technical requirements for production tooling, jigs, and fixtures, ensuring they meet process and production needs.
  • Process Validation & Risk Reduction - Validate new and modified processes to ensure they meet quality, performance, and production requirements. Identify and mitigate risks related to process capability, repeatability, and manufacturability.
  • Sustainability & Efficiency - Identify and implement process improvements that reduce material waste, improve energy efficiency, and align with sustainability initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & NPI Support - Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, and Procurement teams to ensure smooth process implementation.
  • Documentation, Training & Knowledge Sharing - Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including design records, specifications, calculations, and validation reports. Provide training and support to ensure smooth adoption of process changes across teams.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, time-served apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Strong production and project engineering skills, with the ability to manage projects from concept to implementation, involving customers, internal teams, and suppliers.
  • Experience in designing tooling, jigs, and fixtures, with the ability to create engineering specifications.
Desirable Skills
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and clients.
  • Experience in sheet metal processes and knowledge of regulatory requirements for the pressure vessel industry.
  • Ability to work independently while being an active team contributor.
  • Knowledge of welding, fabrication, and metal forming techniques.
