Shift:12-hour rotating day shift (6:00 am - 6:00 pm)




  • Load/unload, start/stop and operate sintering furnaces.

  • Remove sintered heats from the furnaces, break down loads and deliver product to their designated departments.

  • Follow established procedures for running and checking furnaces to ensure all systems are operating correctly.

  • Remove Quality Control lab tests and place in proper envelopes.

  • Remove box tests and deliver to the appropriate focus factory.

  • Pull samples and record inspection results.

  • Maintain heat run sheets and file reports in file cabinets.

  • Scan in correct information using the MII platform.

  • Perform routine furnace maintenance(CLI checklist).

  • May assist with sinter set up, sandblast, destage, slurry, plate coating and other related duties as needed.

  • Environment with controlled temperatures and dust collection systems.

  • Exposure to heat and residue odors when unloading furnaces, especially if there is a malfunction.

  • Safety glasses with side-shields required.

  • Safety steel-toe shoes required.

  • Gloves, heat and/or cut resistant gloves when necessary.

  • Intermittent walking, reaching or lifting above shoulder height, sitting and bending.

  • Lifting heavy furnace trays weighing up to thirty-three (33) pounds above shoulder height.

  • Approximately 8-10 hours standing with five break opportunities per twelve-hour work period.



Education Level:



  • Must have High School diploma or GED.
