Role Overview

As a Manufacturing Operative, you’ll play a vital hands-on role in supporting the safe and efficient running of the shift. You’ll operate a wide range of chemical and mechanical processes and work across various stages of production, from mixing and handling materials to packing and documentation.

You’ll be expected to work flexibly, maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness, and contribute to continuous improvement across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a range of chemical and mechanical processing equipment (powder and liquid handling, drying, milling, etc.)
  • Handle and add chemicals (including acids and bases) to the production process
  • Conduct in-process testing (e.g., pH, particle size, LOD) and adjust processes accordingly
  • Monitor process variables and record data using SAP and Microsoft systems
  • Pack finished goods for dispatch and ensure proper labelling and documentation
  • Maintain high standards of safety, hygiene, and housekeeping at all times
  • Communicate clearly during plant handovers and work collaboratively with the operations team

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths, English, and Science (Grade C/4 or above)
  • At least 2 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment handling liquids and powders
  • Comfortable working with strong acids and base solutions
  • Basic IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office
  • FLT licence
  • Experience using SAP systems is desirable
  • Level 3 qualification preferably in process technology or chemical operations

Working Pattern

  • 37 hours per week, on a rotating 24/6 shift pattern (4-team rotation). Flexibility is required to meet business needs
