Job Summary

We are looking for a Manufacturing & NPI Buyer who will report to the Supply Chain Manager and will have accountability for the delivery of project and programme procurement and cost services.

The Team

The role will be as part of the Supply Chain team at Graphcore. This team is part of the Operations group and has members in Bristol and Taiwan. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining a robust manufacturing subcontract supply chain for Graphcore.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Contact with supply base, dealing with new product development and production, negotiation and placement of orders.
  • Processing of purchase orders and deliveries.
  • Negotiate, purchase and expedite production components in line with production and business requirements.
  • Research new suppliers to increase supply base.
  • Reduce costs and delivery lead times.
  • Be comfortable navigating multi-layer BOMs.
  • Monitor supplier performance and provide feedback.
  • Monitor and report actual vs planned cost (PPV).
  • Participate with other operation stakeholders and update the BoM cost accurately.
  • Verify NDA status and renew or assist signing new NDAs with suppliers.
Candidate Profile
  • Strong technical / electronics background.
  • Degree/HNC or equivalent level in an Engineering/Technical Subject.
  • Will have experience in applying budgeting and cost control techniques within a complex environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of cost management techniques.
  • Have intermediate / advanced Excel skills, good knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems.
  • Have excellent stakeholder management and communication skills (written and oral) and a good understanding of Project Management principles and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Silicon Expert and Arena system but not critical as training can be given.
