Job summary

QinetiQ is seeking a Manufacturing Materials Controller at the Amesbury site to own BoM creation and material control for Aviation Engineering Centre manufacturing activities. You’ll ensure compliance with CAA Part 21 G and AS9100 while collaborating with Project Delivery Teams and Manufacturing Engineers.

Key responsibilities include maintaining BoMs in the MRP system, creating Material Masters, and processing Work Orders with regulatory alignment. Eligible candidates must have HP?

Qualifications

• Competency and experience of working within a production/manufacturing planning environment.
• Awareness of wider Aviation industry practice and general Engineering best practice.
• Operating an MRP system in an Aerospace or similar environment.
• Familiarity with Production plans and Outputs.
• Familiarity with Backflush Material Operations.
• Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all aspects of Material Control within the AEC, providing mentoring, guidance and support in a highly collaborative way.
• Reviewing design data to ensure all consumables, procured parts and Manufactured details are considered and meet project lead time and cost constraints.
• Creating and maintaining of Manufacturing BoM’s within the MRP environment, in collaboration with the Project Delivery Teams and Manufacturing Engineers.
• Creating Material Masters for Purchased and Manufactured parts.
• Work Order creation in line with process and any relevant regulatory requirements.
• Implementing changes to the Manufacturing BoM’s applying robust Change Management.

The Role

As a Manufacturing Materials Controller, responsible for the creation and maintenance of Manufacturing Bill of Materials (BoMs), creating and control of Manufacturing Job Cards, Stock Management, and Material Management for all Aviation Engineering Centre (AEC) Manufacturing activities.

Day-to-day, you’ll support the Production Manager ensuring manufacturing activities meet CAA Part 21 G and AS9100 aerospace requirements as appropriate whilst working in collaboration with the Project Delivery Teams and Manufacturing Engineers.

• Operating an MRP system in an Aerospace or similar environment
• Familiarity with Production plans and Outputs
• Familiarity with Backflush Material Operations
• Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings

Essential qualifications for the Manufacturing Materials Controller:

• HNC Level in Engineering or equivalent evidence of experience and development to this level, with evidence of Continuous Professional Development

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Amesbury (Boscombe Down) site.

MOD Boscombe Down is a unique operational site featuring the longest military runway in the UK. Primarily focusing on providing testing, evaluation and support services for aviation and aerospace systems. Renowned for its extensive flight testing capabilities the site plays a vital role in the UK’s aviation defence contributing to the development, testing and airworthiness of military aircraft enhancing operational readiness and effectiveness.
