Job summary

2 Sisters Food Group in Rogerstone is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team and take full accountability for weekend operations (Friday to Monday). You will lead manufacturing, spend significant time on the shop floor, and act as the senior escalation point for the site.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will drive KPI performance across service, quality, and cost, manage labour and material costs, support NPD launches, and develop Shift Managers

Qualifications

• Experience in large-scale food manufacturing.
• Led large teams in high-volume environments.
• Proven track record of improving performance and efficiency.
• Strong commercial awareness, particularly labour and cost management.
• Hands-on, highly visible leader who drives accountability.
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (desirable).
• Six Sigma Green Belt or similar qualification (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Deliver KPI performance across service, quality and cost.
• Lead day-to-day production on a large, complex site.
• Drive performance, efficiency and waste reduction.
• Take ownership of labour and material cost control.
• Act as the senior escalation point for operational issues.
• Identify root causes and implement sustainable fixes.
• Support NPD launches and product transitions.
• Lead, coach, and develop Shift Managers and wider teams.
• Drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Maintain strong visibility and presence on the shop floor.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team, with full accountability for site operations across the weekend.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will lead manufacturing from Friday through Monday, covering the end of one production cycle and the start of the next. You will act as the senior escalation point for the entire site, with full ownership of operational performance during this period.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role. You will spend significant time on the shop floor (circa 50%), leading teams, driving standards, and making real-time decisions to keep production moving.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver KPI performance across service, quality, and cost
• Lead day-to-day production across a large, complex manufacturing site

• Take ownership of labour and material cost control
• Act as the senior escalation point for operational issues
• Identify root causes and implement sustainable fixes

• Lead, coach, and develop Shift Managers and wider operational teams
• Drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
• Maintain strong visibility and presence on the shop floor

The Scale

• Responsibility for 650-1200 employees
• Direct oversight of 300+ employees on-site daily
• Production output of approximately 1.6 million meals per week

About You

• Bring significant experience within food manufacturing (essential)
• Have led large teams in complex, high-volume environments
• Demonstrate a strong track record of improving performance and efficiency
• Show strong commercial awareness, particularly labour and cost management
• Be a proactive, action-oriented leader who drives accountability
• Be comfortable operating in a hands-on, highly visible role
• Have experience in continuous improvement methodologies (desirable)
• Hold a Six Sigma Green Belt or similar qualification (desirable)
