Job Description:

Job Title: Manufacturing Manager

Working Pattern: 37 hours Days

Working location: Raynesway Derby

We are seeking a dynamic senior leader with previous manufacturing experience and proven active leadership in a growth organization. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a growing nuclear business, supporting delivery of national defense priorities and innovative technologies.

Why Rolls-Royce Submarines? Our business is world-leading in propulsion system design and development for the Royal Navy's Nuclear Submarine Fleet. We manage all aspects of plant design, safety, manufacture, performance, and support.

The New Build & Components (NB&C) unit is responsible for delivery, engineering, and programs, focusing on delivering Dreadnought, the UK's top defense project, and maintaining commitments to other submarine programs.

The Dreadnought class replaces the Vanguard class submarines to maintain the UK's continuous at-sea deterrent, featuring advanced British-designed reactors and propulsion equipment.

Why work with us? Rolls-Royce is an iconic brand, leading in innovation for over a century. We design, build, and service critical power systems with a focus on safety and reliability. We foster an inclusive, innovative culture with opportunities for career growth.

What we offer: Competitive salary, bonus, support assistance, discounts, and flexible hybrid working.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead development and execution of manufacturing strategy to meet growth, performance, and capability goals.
  • Manage safety, quality, cost, delivery, and people within your areas.
  • Lead multi-functional teams to address manufacturing challenges for reactor components.
  • Drive manufacturing improvements for throughput, efficiency, and resilience.
  • Plan long-term load and capacity balancing to support business strategy.

Candidate Profile:

  • Extensive manufacturing experience across relevant functions.
  • Experience in a growth organization and transformational projects.
  • Proven track record in operational performance improvements.
  • Leadership in engineering within an international business.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and product integrity.
  • Financial acumen in budgeting and forecasting.

We are committed to diversity and inclusion, promoting a culture of caring and belonging. To work in our Submarines business, security clearance is required, which we will support in obtaining.
