Small Assembly Manufacturing Manager

  • Annual Salary: Competitive salary, DOE
  • Location: Norwich
  • Job Type: Temporary (6 months), potential for permanent for right person
  • Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a Small Assembly Manufacturing Manager to lead ourclient's Norwich Dispatch team in delivering high-quality electronic devices with precision and speed. If you are a hands-on manufacturing leader with a passion for quality, efficiency, and team development, this role is for you.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee the end-to-end process of assembling, programming, testing, and dispatching electronic devices.
  • Ensure same-day dispatch targets are met and manage the refurbishment of returned units.
  • Maintain full traceability and compliance with environmental and regulatory standards, including WEEE and battery handling.
  • Lead a team of approximately 10 staff, driving productivity, health & safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage stock and logistics to ensure quality control and compliance.
  • Implement LEAN methods to improve throughput and overall operational efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in electronics assembly or small-scale manufacturing.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Skilled in refurbishment, testing, and quality assurance processes.
  • Experience implementing LEAN methods to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory management.
  • Understanding of WEEE, battery handling, and ISO standards.
  • HND, NVQ, or equivalent qualification in Manufacturing/Electronics; leadership training is a plus.
  • Personal attributes should include being detail-focused, calm under pressure, collaborative, and committed to continuous improvement.
