Job Description

Salary: 85-110K DOE

Seeking individuals who are expert implementers of Lean Manufacturing tools with extensive manufacturing experience. This manufacturing plant is located in the York-Lancaster PA area.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  1. Lead all Continuous Improvement (CI)/Lean efforts in the plant.
  2. Lead kaizen events ranging from 1 to 5 days, with the plant conducting many short kaizen events.
  3. Implement Standard Work throughout the plant, including leader standard work for production managers, supervisors, and team leads.
  4. Map out value streams and identify opportunities for improvement.
  5. Develop and maintain an effective Daily Lean Management System, working hands-on with front line leaders to train them on conducting shift start meetings, encouraging employee suggestions (SQDCM), conducting daily gemba walks, collecting meaningful data, and updating hour-to-hour boards with appropriate corrective actions.
  6. Assist line leaders in identifying waste and taking corrective actions, training them on waste identification and improvement projects.
  7. Collaborate with plant managers to identify CI opportunities, training them on tools such as VSM, 5S/6S, TPM, Standard Work, One Piece Flow, Mistake Proofing, Kanbans, Quick Changeover/SMED, Problem Solving, and A3s.
  8. Periodically audit progress within the plant and report findings to management.
  9. Manage key capital improvement projects, including automation, equipment, and process upgrades.

Desired Experience/Education/Qualities:

  • Preferably a 4-year Engineering degree; however, an Associate's degree with relevant hands-on experience will be considered.
  • At least 6-8 years of progressive Operations/Lean/Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Completed over 20 kaizen events with practical experience implementing most of the listed tools.
  • Hands-on contributor, spending approximately 75% of the workday on the plant floor working with managers, supervisors, team leads, engineers, maintenance, and office personnel on improvement opportunities impacting the bottom line.

Salary range: $85K - $100K DOE
