A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Manufacturing IT Support Engineer for a 6-month contract in England. The engineer will provide hands-on support for critical manufacturing applications, ensuring operational continuity in a high-tech environment. Ideal candidates have strong IT/OT knowledge and experience with shopfloor systems. The role requires working onsite with a rotating shift model and supports high-impact industrial systems.

Qualifications

  • Monitor and resolve shopfloor IT/OT incidents.
  • Act as the first point of contact for functional and technical issues.
  • Coordinate triage and resolution across multiple technical teams.
  • Maintain SLA targets and ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Collaborate with SMEs and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Support endpoint devices like barcode printers and scanners.

Job description

Job Title :Manufacturing IT Support Engineer
Location: Onsite – Broughton or Filton
Contract Type: 6-Month Contract
Rate: £360 – £380 per day (Inside IR35)
Clearance Requirement: UK Passport only
Working Pattern: 100% Onsite | Mon–Fri | On-call support on a need basis

The Opportunity:

Join a high-impact team supporting critical manufacturing applications at one of the world’s leading aerospace manufacturers. This role places you on the shopfloor frontline, supporting production systems and ensuring operational continuity for industrial-grade IT and OT systems. It’s a hands-on role within a high-tech manufacturing environment, perfect for professionals with a passion for automation, industrial IT, and real-time production systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and resolve shopfloor IT/OT incidents (ServiceNow preferred)

  • Act as the first point of contact for functional and technical issues

  • Coordinate triage and resolution across multiple technical teams

  • Maintain SLA targets and ensure high-quality service delivery

  • Collaborate with SMEs and cross-functional stakeholders

  • Communicate with vendors, OEMs, and business users

  • Support endpoint devices (barcode printers/scanners, MRTs, smart devices)

  • Follow standard ITSM processes: Incident, Change, Problem, Capacity

  • Participate in knowledge transition and shift handovers

Must-Have Skills & Experience:
  • Strong knowledge of Manufacturing IT/OT environments

  • Experience supporting shopfloor systems and devices

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow and ITIL processes

  • Hands-on experience with industrial endpoints (Printers, Scanners, MRTs)

  • Excellent stakeholder communication and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to work on a rotating shift model and on-call as needed
