Description

By joining the Bio-Techne team you will have an impact on future cutting-edge research. Bio-Techne, and all its brands, provides tools for researchers in Life Sciences and Clinical Diagnostics. This role will play a key part in delivering very high-quality products (ancillary materials) for stem cell research by our customers.

Bio-Techne is committed to product quality, customer satisfaction, continued improvement, minimising environmental impacts and conserving natural resources. Environmental and quality management is an integral core value and vital part of the Bio-Techne culture.

Position Summary:

Bio-Techne is a world-leading developer and manufacturer of high-quality biological reagents, and we are seeking someone to join our ancillary materials manufacturing team in Bristol, which is undergoing significant investment and will shortly be expanding into a newly constructed, purpose-built manufacturing facility. This team is responsible for the manufacture of ancillary materials under the principles of cGMP (current good manufacturing practice) for the Tocris brand (a Bio-Techne Brand).

We are looking to fill a predominantly lab-based, practical role where an eye for detail and commitment to meeting the high-quality requirements by being open to listening, learning and following instruction is crucial.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work as part of the ancillary materials team to deliver assigned products following the process and timescale as defined in the relevant batch documentation.
• Ensure any deviations from process are recorded and rapidly brought to the attention of the team.
• Contribute to process reviews and record work as required in the relevant documentation.
• Contribute to development of the quality management system by reviewing and updating procedures as required.
• Communicate effectively with key stakeholders on workload, prioritisation, and progress.
• Work in a safe, tidy, and responsible manner, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• BSc degree or equivalent qualification or relevant industry experience in chemistry (or closely related discipline)
• Knowledge of practical organic chemistry
• Previous experience of working under principles of cGMP highly desirable but not essential
• Knowledge of, and adherence to, required quality and safety guidelines.
• High level of personal productivity

Personal Qualities and attributes:

• Highly collaborative with effective team-working skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
• Excellent ‘can do’ attitude, including a willingness to contribute to tasks that benefit the wider team
• Ability to build strong relationships cross functionally

Bio-Techne: an employer of choice

• Competitive base salary and annual performance-based salary reviews
• 25 days annual leave (+ bank holidays)
• A comprehensive benefits package including a highly favourable pension scheme and private medical insurance.
• Culture of training, development, and support, with bi-yearly offering of a variety of facilitator-lead courses through the Bio-Techne Learning and Development Initiative and regular Lunch & Learn talks from industry and academic leaders in the field, plus opportunities to attend relevant conferences.

In order to be considered for this position, you will need to be authorised to live and work in the UK. This position is advertised with a rolling-call for applications. We will interview potential candidates throughout this time and this process will close once a successful candidate has been found. We recommend applying as soon as possible.
