Sowena Group, a high-growth PE-backed manufacturing business in Blackburn, seeks a Senior Management Accountant to join a fast-paced finance team. You will lead monthly management accounts, management reporting and commercial analysis to drive operating performance.

You will partner with site leaders, support budgeting, forecasting and cost control, and help shape continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing finance. Hybrid working is offered with exposure to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant.
• Experience in management accounting within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of standard costing, manufacturing finance and operational reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems.
• Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders outside of finance.
• Analytical, commercially minded and proactive with excellent attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities.

Responsabilités

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts with full P&L and balance sheet analysis.
• Lead month-end close activities including journals, accruals, prepayments and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with financial controls, policies and procedures; support the year-end audit.
• Act as a trusted finance partner to operational and site management teams; provide financial insight for decision-making.
• Analyse manufacturing efficiency, waste and yield; support capital investment decisions with financial modelling and payback analysis.
• Maintain and enhance standard costing models; monitor variances and inventory valuation; support cost reduction initiatives.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting for operational areas; monitor performance against budget and provide actionable insights.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting, controls and processes; support finance transformation initiatives.
