Job summary

Hawthorn One, a long-established SME manufacturing business in the Manchester area, is hiring a Finance Business Partner to own management accounts, costing and commercial analysis. You will work with the Finance Director to strengthen controls, improve reporting and introduce structured planning across finance, sales and operations.

The role focuses on more accurate cost data, profitability analysis and budgeting, with opportunities for progression into senior finance leadership as the business

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with hands-on experience preparing management accounts.
• Experience in manufacturing costing, BOM analysis and stock valuation.
• Proactive, organised and capable of shaping a finance function.
• Strong month-end reporting, internal controls and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Own management accounts, financial reporting, manufacturing costing and commercial analysis.
• Develop more accurate product costing and profitability analysis.
• Introduce budgets, forecasts and structured financial planning; report variances.
• Collaborate with Sales and Operations to tie financial insight to decisions.
• Support the Finance Director in strengthening controls and reporting.
