Job summary

Castle Employment Agency Ltd in York is seeking a Management Accountant for a manufacturing business. You will combine monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and cost analysis with operational finance, working closely with production and senior management to turn numbers into actionable insights.

You should be qualified, part-qualified or studying toward a recognized accounting qualification, with strong Excel and variance analysis skills to support profitability and performance

Qualifications

• This role is open to qualified, part-qualified, or actively studying towards an accounting qualification.
• Strong understanding of management accounts, month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Proficient Excel and analytical skills; able to communicate financial information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts including P&L and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support and drive accurate, timely month-end close.
• Analyse actual performance against budgets and forecasts; provide variance commentary.
• Assist with budgeting, rolling forecasts and scenario planning.
• Monitor CAPEX, fixed assets and depreciation; support VAT reporting.
• Develop operational finance reports and KPI information.
