Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimise production at a major site producing foam and gas suppression systems. This hands-on role focuses on improving efficiency, reducing cost, and enhancing quality across operations, working with production, engineering and supply chain teams in office- and site-based settings.

The site is located near Great Yarmouth with standard hours 7:30am–4:00pm Monday to Thursday, Friday 1:30pm finish.

Qualifications

• HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing or production engineering environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
• Computer literate with a practical, data-driven mindset.
• Proactive, driven and confident with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and review production plans to meet output, cost and quality objectives.
• Monitor expenditure and forecast resource and production capacity requirements.
• Optimise manufacturing layouts for assembly and materials handling.
• Design and improve manufacturing processes, equipment and machine utilisation.
• Plan and sequence manufacturing operations to improve flow and efficiency.
• Provide guidance and input into engineering design concepts for manufacturability.
• Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma / DMAIC methodologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive quality, cost and productivity improvements.
