Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a manufacturing engineer to optimise production at a major site near Great Yarmouth. The role focuses on improving efficiency, reducing cost and enhancing quality across production operations, working with production, engineering and supply chain teams.

You will plan and review production schedules, monitor expenditure and capacity, optimise layouts and processes, and lead continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing or production engineering environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
• Computer literate with a practical, data-driven mindset.
• Proactive, driven and confident with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and review production plans to meet output, cost and quality objectives.
• Monitor expenditure and forecast resource and production capacity requirements.
• Optimise manufacturing layouts for assembly and materials handling.
• Design and improve manufacturing processes, equipment and machine utilisation.
• Plan and sequence manufacturing operations to improve flow and efficiency.
• Provide guidance and input into engineering design concepts for manufacturability.
• Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma / DMAIC methodologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive quality, cost and productivity improvements.
