Job description

The Manufacturing Engineering Programmer is responsible for programming vertical, horizontal, 5-axis, mill-turning, and wire EDM CNC Machines. They design tooling, fixtures, and develop processes for quick and accurate setup. They also create manufacturing drawings and maintain production of prototype and machined parts. Additionally, they create and modify Renishaw probing macros utilizing Fanuc Macro B.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Create and modify programs and processes for CNC machines using CAD/CAM software.
• Verify and simulate programs to optimize for efficient cycle times.
• Design fixtures and custom tooling as needed.
• Create manufacturing drawings based on the process.
• Document machine setup procedures, SOPs, and in-process inspection reports.
• Purchase tools, fixtures, and materials as required.
• Collaborate with Engineering & Assembly to streamline manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Program and set up other machines, including Rofin Laser and EOS 3D printer, if required.
• Review parts for manufacturability.
• Perform other duties to support business needs as directed.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of CNC programming experience.
• At least 3 years of setup and machining experience.
• 1+ years of Mastercam experience.
• Detailed knowledge of machine G-code.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and thoroughness.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, meeting deadlines.
• Regular on-site attendance is required.
• Access to export-controlled technology requires legal authorization prior to employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Over 5 years of CNC programming experience.
• Experience with multi-axis and mill-turn programming is a plus.
• Vericut simulation experience.
• SolidWorks experience for design and drawing creation.
• Mazak machine experience.
• Understanding of Fanuc Macro B & Renishaw probing.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, communicate, and handle objects in a production environment.
• Vision abilities include close, distance, and focus adjustment.
• Prolonged computer work and occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
