Job summary

Unipart in Southport is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead the Manufacturing Engineering function and Toolroom, driving strategy, industrialising new products, and implementing safe, capable processes to support operational excellence and growth.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will coach a team of 6 engineers, develop the site manufacturing engineering roadmap, apply lean tools, analyse process capability, and collaborate with Design, Quality, Procurement, customers and

Qualifications

A degree in Mechanical or Electronics Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
Proven people leadership experience leading a Manufacturing or Production Engineering function.
Demonstrated experience in NPI, industrialisation projects and short-batch manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Define the site’s manufacturing engineering roadmap and establish robust process standards.
Lead, develop, and coach a team of 6 engineers.
Drive short-batch New Product Introduction, analyse process capability (SPC).
Lead structured root-cause investigations to eliminate waste and boost productivity.
Provide technical guidance to senior leadership and shop-floor teams across functions.
