Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering Administrator

Salary: £27,855 rising to £ £29,279 when role objectives are reached

Contract: Full time & permanent

Location: Desford, Leicestershire

The Opportunity:

As a Manufacturing Engineering Administrator, you help keep our production running. You'll manage procurement, track inventory, and support engineering projects to ensure everything stays on schedule. From modernising storage systems to coordinating with teams and suppliers, your work will make a real impact every day.

What will you do:

As the Manufacturing Engineering Administrator, you are accountable for, but not limited to:
  • Raise and track purchase orders using systems like NextGen (Coupa) and Glovia; monitor stock levels and ensure accurate distribution and logging of manufacturing consumables and equipment.
  • Liaise with suppliers, delivery services, and internal teams to manage the receipt, storage, and invoicing of goods, ensuring timely and efficient operations.
  • Lead improvements to equipment storage areas, maintaining compliance with 5S principles and supporting production continuity.
  • Provide administrative assistance for project management tasks, including scheduling, documentation, and tracking; coordinate equipment repairs and insurance-related actions.
  • Support improvement initiatives while upholding Caterpillar's Health and Safety policies and core Values in Action.
What You Can Demonstrate:
  • Hands-on experience in manufacturing or assembly environments, with a solid understanding of production workflows and processes.
  • Good at keeping track of stock, monitoring supplies, and working well with both team members and outside suppliers.
  • Good at using Microsoft Excel and other Office tools to keep track of documents, reports, and processes
  • Clear communicator with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and contribute proactively within a team setting.
What You May Have:
  • Knowledge of basic assembly processes and experience in manufacturing environments
  • Comfortable using Glovia, NextGen (Coupa), and modern inventory management systems
  • Skilled in working with suppliers and keeping track of stock and supplies
  • Confident in discussing deals and working with different teams
  • Always looking for ways to make work more efficient using lean practices
  • Forklift license (desirable)
