Manufacturing Engineer - Whole Engine Life-cycle Industrialisation A&DT, Swindon

This is a full-time position based in Derby, UK, with Rolls-Royce, focusing on the entire engine life-cycle, including assembly, disassembly, and testing.

Job Description

What you will be doing:

  • Working as an industrialisation engineer to promote world-class methods, technology, digital capabilities, and processes across AD&T.
  • Influencing and improving the experimental, production, and overhaul departments in Derby and globally.
  • Promoting best practices, collaboration, leadership, efficiency, and continuous improvement under the EPIC initiative.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishing and maintaining connections across the full engine build and service lifecycle.
  • Implementing APQP principles throughout the lifecycle.
  • Utilizing the latest technologies and digital tools effectively.
  • Leading bespoke engine build/disassembly projects focused on industrialisation.
  • Driving method improvements and simplifications, including FAI and engine manual utilization.
  • Collaborating with the design and engine build teams to prepare for UltraFan engines across the lifecycle.

Who we're looking for:

  • A highly driven self-starter with strategic thinking abilities.
  • Ability to coach and influence at all levels for collaboration.
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FAI, change control, etc., is desirable.
  • Problem-solving skills such as 8D are preferred.
  • Comfortable communicating and influencing at senior levels.
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering related to engine assembly/disassembly and understanding of Part 145 and Part 21 regulations is advantageous but not essential.
