Job summary

Vibe Recruit is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in the United Kingdom to drive process development and continuous improvement. You will lead design changes, evaluate new manufacturing technologies, and plan projects for product introductions and process automation.

The role requires strong engineering and project delivery skills, tooling and fixture design experience, and a proactive approach to quality, efficiency, and cost performance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, time-served apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification/experience.
• Strong production and project engineering skills, with the ability to manage projects from concept to implementation.
• Experience in designing tooling, jigs, and fixtures, with the ability to create engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

• Process Development, Design & Change Implementation - Implement, design, and improve manufacturing processes to enhance standard times, repeatability, and scalability.
• Technology & Process Innovation - Identify, evaluate, and implement new manufacturing technologies, automation solutions, and advanced fabrication techniques.
• Project Planning & Change Management - Develop structured project plans for process improvements, new product introduction (NPI), and technology implementation.
• Engineering Specifications & Technical Communication - Define technical requirements for production tooling, jigs, and fixtures, ensuring they meet process and production needs.
• Process Validation & Risk Reduction - Validate new and modified processes to ensure they meet quality, performance, and production requirements. Identify and mitigate risks related to process capability, repeatability, and manufacturability.
• Sustainability & Efficiency - Identify and implement process improvements that reduce material waste, improve energy efficiency, and align with sustainability initiatives.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration & NPI Support - Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, and Procurement teams to ensure smooth process implementation.
• Documentation, Training & Knowledge Sharing - Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including design records, specifications, calculations, and validation reports. Provide training and support to ensure smooth adoption of process changes across teams.
