An exciting opportunity for a New Product Introduction Manufacturing Engineer role has arisen within Rolls Royce Submarines.

Rolls-Royce Submarines is looking to recruit self-motivated Manufacturing Engineers who enjoy learning new skills, have a positive approach, and enjoy resolving a wide range of challenges.

As part of the Engineering Producibility Team, a Manufacturing Engineer is expected to influence new designs using New Product Introduction tools to ensure manufacturability and improve existing product designs, translating these into world-class processes meeting safety, quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

Within this role, you will contribute to developing manufacturing processes and methods, and the continuous improvement of these areas.

Responsibilities:
  • Execute Manufacturing Product Introduction activities, designing the Method of Manufacture and process steps using Product Quality Planning tools
  • Influence product definition and final form manufacture through DFMEA/PFMEA knowledge
  • Create and validate Production Technical Instructions to meet design intent and requirements for safety, quality, cost, and delivery
  • Manage First offs, new part numbers, resequencing, and tooling introduction
  • Act as the manufacturing technical authority and represent manufacturing engineering within cross-functional teams
Candidate Profile:
  • Experience in fabrications, valves, complex assemblies, machining, or critical classified components
  • Degree or equivalent in engineering or related technical discipline with relevant manufacturing/process engineering experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean techniques
  • Good communication, organizational, and presentation skills
