The Vacancy: Manufacturing Engineer MRO

We are looking for new colleagues to join our MRO team (maintenance, repair & overhaul) of the Fokker Landing Gear Manufacturing Engineering department based in Papendrecht. This is a multicultural team consisting of Engineers within Product, Quality, Tooling, Configuration, Process, CAM, all focusing on the manufacturing of landing gear systems and components for esteemed programs like the NH90, Apache and JSF.

For the MRO team of the Manufacturing Engineering department, we are looking for enthusiastic, hands-on and experienced Manufacturing Engineer (Part-145 Engineering) with a practical mindset. Within this position, you are part of a dedicated MRO Manufacturing Engineering team and the first Point of Contact for complex Technical Issues on the shop floor.

Fokker Landing Gear, part of GKN Fokker, is a recognized specialist in landing gear and related systems. We focus on the design and development, production and assembly of complete landing gears, as well as the repair and reassembly of systems already in use. In doing so, we work on the most famous aircraft and helicopters; think of the Apache combat helicopter, the F-35 Lightning II (JSF), the Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 and the multipurpose NH90 maritime combat helicopter.

What you'll do

  • Be the Point of Contact for technical issues in both the MRO shop floor and production area (incl. Vendors). Act proactively as a troubleshooter and resolve issues quickly.
  • Responsible for the preparation and managing of MRO process routings.
  • Take the lead in consulting other disciplines (e.g. Process Engineering, Quality, Production Operators and Procurement) when solving technical query’s or development of Repair Designs.
  • Create Repair Designs or Salvage Proposals towards Design Authority Organizations/OEMs/Customers.
  • In consult with technicians and operators, innovate, develop, improve and implement tooling and equipment for process optimization.
  • Investigate product deviations and handle them.
  • Maintain positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers.
  • Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean initiatives.

What you'll bring

  • Technical Bachelor degree, preferably in Aeronautical, Mechanical- or Automotive Engineering,
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience, preferably in Aerospace MRO (Engineering),
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and Aviation Legislation models (e.g. AS9110, EASA/EMAR-145),
  • Ability to influence people, build trust and establish effective working relationship within a global organization,
  • Working knowledge of LEAN processes and practices,
  • Hands-on, practical and solution oriented mentality,
  • Honed communication skills and strong documentation / reporting skills,
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment,
  • Living in the vicinity of Papendrecht or willing to relocate.
