Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. This hands-on, shop floor-based role is crucial for overseeing and troubleshooting our daily manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will be actively involved in driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing scrap and enhancing productivity, all while managing costs effectively.

A Day In The Life

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and optimize daily operations on the shop floor, focusing on various manufacturing processes including CNC and manual machining, fabrication equipment, presses, robots, core machines, furnaces, and molding machines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues to minimize downtime and ensure smooth production flow.
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies aimed at scrap reduction, productivity enhancement, and cost minimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, maintenance, quality, and engineering to develop and refine manufacturing processes.
  • Analyze process data to identify trends and areas for improvement and develop action plans accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations while performing engineering tasks on the shop floor.
  • Provide technical training and guidance to shop floor personnel to foster a knowledgeable and safety-conscious work environment.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of new equipment and processes, including conducting feasibility studies and ROI analyses.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation to track process performance and improvement initiatives.
What will help you thrive in this role?
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (3+ yrs) in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably in a hands-on, shop floor-based capacity.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes related to CNC and manual machining, fabrication equipment, presses, robots, core machines, furnaces, and molding machines is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues.
  • Proficient in data analysis and process optimization techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with CAD software and manufacturing execution systems (MES) is a plus.
