Job summary

Orion Electrotech Ltd in Redditch is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support industrialisation of manufacturing processes and introduce new equipment. You will work with production, quality and engineering teams to deliver safe, efficient production that meets quality standards.

Responsibilities include equipment design and commissioning, process improvement, CAPEX justifications, and supporting PFMEA and lean initiatives in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• HND or degree in engineering/manufacturing discipline.
• Experience in aerospace/automotive or similar manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of welding cells, tooling and machining.
• Experience with lean tools: Six Sigma, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 6S, Kanban.
• Experience within an AS9001 environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, specify, source and commission new production equipment.
• Drive process improvements for cycle times, process optimisation and waste reduction.
• Provide production support and lead root cause analysis activities.
• Manage engineering changes with change control procedures.
• Support project costing with manufacturing routes, process information and cost data.
• Prepare capital expenditure justifications for equipment and process improvements.
• Analyse downtime trends and develop long-term corrective actions.
• Conduct PFMEA and manufacturing readiness activities.
