Job Overview

TE Swindon is seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual to join the Process Engineering team in the Materials Compounding Plant. The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with Operations, Product Development, and Product Management to initiate and implement product, process, and manufacturing improvements while assisting in the day-to-day resolution of manufacturing issues.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  1. Provide hands-on day-to-day manufacturing support.
  2. Deliver ongoing improvements to processes, procedures, and products to enhance Site Productivity, Quality, and Scrap Reduction.
  3. Collect and analyze data to provide solutions to Production and Technical problems.
  4. Ensure all production paperwork, machine recipes, and specifications are current and accurate.
  5. Maintain accurate product costings, standards, and documentation.
  6. Control and document all process changes according to business procedures.
  7. Address and resolve customer complaints with robust solutions within designated timeframes.
  8. Support manufacturing trials for sustaining or new product development.
  9. Ensure all activities are conducted safely, with hazards correctly identified and reported promptly.
Candidate Profile
  • Experience in a compounding plant, preferably with polymers.
  • Engineering qualification or working towards one.
  • Attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Practical, hands-on, and action-oriented.
  • Enthusiastic, driven, self-motivated, with a positive attitude.
  • Flexible to work on multiple projects with good prioritization skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and IT systems.
  • Six Sigma or strong analytical skills are advantageous.
