Job summary

Theo James Recruitment is working with an established heavy engineering business to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer in Saltburn-by-the-Sea. You will act as a bridge between Sales and Production, ensuring the shop floor has accurate drawings, documentation and manufacturing information to deliver projects.

The role involves reviewing contracts, translating customer requirements into manufacturing docs, and producing packs, 2D drawings and 3D models.

Qualifications

• Previous experience programming and operating CNC machinery.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience using CAD/CAM software.
• Understanding of dimensions, tolerances and manufacturing specifications.
• Strong attention to quality and accuracy.
• Identify manufacturing issues and resolve problems effectively.
• Good communication between commercial and production teams.
• Organised with ability to manage multiple jobs.

Responsibilities

• Producing manufacturing packs, including ballooned drawings and feature lists.
• Reviewing engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances and specifications.
• Identifying missing or conflicting technical information before production begins.
• Checking incoming materials against specification and resolving discrepancies.
• Producing 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD/CAM software.
• Supporting offline CNC programming where required.
• Working closely with Sales, Production and shop-floor engineering teams.
• Contributing towards improvements in estimating accuracy and manufacturing efficiency.
