Job Description:

Manufacturing Engineer – Electronic/Electro-Mechanical products

Are you a seasoned Manufacturing Engineer with a passion for driving process improvements and ensuring product quality? This role offers a unique chance to make a significant impact within a dynamic production environment.

This is a great opportunity because this will be the first Manufacturing Engineer the company has employed. They have a production team of 10 people, including a Supervisor and Assemblers. Previously, the R&D team has supported production with NPI and designing jigs, fixates, and tooling. Now they are looking to hire a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer to take on those duties and take ownership of the manufacturing processes, so it's a great opportunity to take ownership of that and have a big impact on the business with a lot of autonomy.

Manufacturing Engineer – Electronic/Electro-Mechanical products - Role Overview:

As a Manufacturing Engineer, your primary mission is to provide robust technical support to production operations. This involves developing, implementing, and optimising manufacturing processes to ensure consistent product quality, cost-efficiency, and on-time delivery. You will play a pivotal role in resolving day-to-day production issues, supporting product build and assembly, and ensuring that all processes are stable, documented, and continuously improved.

Key Responsibilities - Manufacturing Engineer – Electronic/Electro-Mechanical products:
  • Manufacturing Process Engineering: Provide daily technical support, design and optimise manufacturing processes, and collaborate with various teams to ensure manufacturability.
  • Quality & Compliance: Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure compliance with quality standards, investigate non-conformances, and implement corrective actions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, utilising data-driven tools to identify and drive performance improvements.
  • Project Support: Support the introduction of new products and process changes, collaborating with the Project Management team to deliver projects in alignment with QCD objectives.
Skills and Experience Required - Manufacturing Engineer – Electronic/Electro-Mechanical products:
  • Experience in a manufacturing engineering role for electronic/electro-mech products.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling, able to design jigs/fixtures, tooling and production aids.
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems (ISO 9001), lean manufacturing, and root cause analysis tools.
  • Excellent understanding of Design for Manufacture (DfM) and Assembly (DfA) methods.
  • Proven experience with a variety of manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, vacuum forming, machining, and PCB assembly.
Personal Attributes - Manufacturing Engineer – Electronic/Electro-Mechanical products:
  • Technically capable and confident in providing hands-on support and practical solutions.
  • Collaborative with a team-oriented approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Structured, methodical, and detail-driven in execution.
  • Flexible and resilient when managing shifting priorities or operational challenges.

This role is more than just a job; it's a chance to be a key player in a team dedicated to excellence in production. If you are driven by innovation and continuous improvement, this is the perfect environment to advance your career.
