Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer - Computer-Aided Engineering

Pattern: Days (Potential shift work available)

Location: Derby (5 days onsite)

We have an exciting opportunity for a CAE Manufacturing Engineer to join our Submarines function within the NBC OBU based at Raynesway, Derby. The role involves creating and delivering Computer Aided Machine (CAM) Programs and supporting Engineering activities in production operations. The engineer will manage, validate, and execute manufacturing processes to ensure safety, capability, and alignment with design, production, cost, and quality requirements, delivered on time.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, maintain, and govern Machine Programs, Technical Instructions (TI's), and tooling for existing and new components.
  • Ensure contributions deliver robust Technical Packages for internally manufactured parts.
  • Support coaching and development of CAE and Operations teams.
  • Review and approve manufacturing change methods with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate on programme and process improvements to enhance manufacturing capability.

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified Engineer (e.g., UK HND/foundation degree) or relevant experience.
  • Desirable: Recognized engineering accreditation (e.g., UK IEng or CEng).
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to the role.
  • Proficient in CAM software such as Teamcenter, Siemens NX, Vericut, or similar.
  • Knowledge of machine programming (Siemens 840D, Heidenhain, Fanuc, Mazatrol).
  • Experience managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
