Job summary

Join a global leader in aircraft engine nacelles as an Assembly Specialist in Burnley. Lead assembly process enhancement, collaborate with production and quality teams, and ensure world-class processes for large aircraft nacelle structures.

Job Responsibilities

  • Act as the focal point/SME on-site regarding Assembly processes, utilizing expertise within the wider Safran group.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing production methods.
  • Work closely with Production and Quality departments to define, implement, and maintain assembly processes for large aircraft nacelle structures (Thrust Reversers and Fan Cowl Doors).
  • Establish world-class, financially sustainable processes, including fully-automated, semi-automated, or manual assembly processes.
  • Manage assembly process risks related to HSE, capability, capacity, and finance.
  • Develop process plans supporting multiple assembly lines, considering production constraints like rate and Takt time.
  • Define, implement, and maintain capable processes, validated through Statistical Process Control (SPC).

Job Requirements

  • Proficiency with CAD software (preferably CATIA v5).
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAP).
  • Thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Understanding of Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) methods.
  • Data-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Confidence balanced with humility and introspection.
  • Experience in Lean Sigma (preferred).
  • Understanding of APQP and PPAP methods and documents (preferred).
  • Knowledge of aircraft nacelle components and structures (desirable).
  • Background in Tooling and Fixtures (building and/or inspection).
