Manufacturing Engineer - 18-month FTC
Key requirements
- Project manage complex products from quotation to launch.
- Manage multiple suppliers of tooling and capital, ensuring timing and cost targets are met.
- Launch of new products and processes, ensuring time and cost targets are achieved, with comprehensive timing plans aligned with customer milestones.
- Develop pre-production processes.
- Create PFMEAs, control plans, and standard operating instructions for pre-production and production.
- Design, develop, specify, and source key manufacturing equipment.
- Sign off on new equipment, including managing run at rates and capability studies.
- Ensure products, processes, and materials are safe, completing necessary health and safety documentation.
- Support product design, ensuring best-in-class design for manufacture.
- Produce workbooks for accurate cost estimates to support commercial decisions.
- Manage changes through the CR system, ensuring timely submission.
- Support quality by resolving customer concerns and conducting root cause analysis.
- Manage equipment installation and contractors.
- Support daily operations.
- Generate cost-saving initiatives aligned with the plant's CI roadmap.
- Experience with aftermarket component supply.
Preferred skills and experience
- Degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
- Experience working with an OEM.
- Knowledge of headliner manufacturing and assembly.
- Familiarity with manufacturing lines reliant on IT systems.
- Significant experience in a relevant role within a 1st tier automotive supplier, preferably in a JIT environment.
- Experience with Six Sigma / Lean manufacturing.
- Proficiency with MS Project; AutoCAD is advantageous.
What you'll get
