What will you be doing?

Within this position you will be responsible for:

  • Receive instrucitons from Manufacturing Support Manager to ensure manufacturing support activities align with business needs and objectives. Liaise with Production Manager ensuring manufacturing support activities align with business needs and objectives. Liaise with Quality, Welding Coordination, Projects, Procurement and QHSE ensuring all expectations are managed to achieve project delivery. Providing support to the workshop floor before and during manufacturing activities. Review and internally approve customer drawings (client, internal Engineering department) ensuring suitability for manufacture within current capabilities. Compile and review Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for upcoming scopes of work to allow procurement. Co-ordinate workshop procurement activities ensuring material deliveries align with workshop delivery schedule. Assist in the production and maintenance of workshop delivery schedules as well as adherence to schedule. Assist with management and coordination of suppliers and sub-contractors (related to manufacture and delivery). Provide assistance to Projects team for Early Warnings (EW), Compensation Events (CE). Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. Provide assistance to tenders in relation to manufacturing and inspection capabilities. Provide assistance in the development of operational processes and procedures.

Key outputs:

  • The preparation of workshop documentation to enable manufacture in line with applicable specifications and procedures. Including but not limited to: o Weld Maps o Weld Data Sheets o Travel Cards o Manufacture Document Issue Sheets o Fabrication Drawings o Method Statements Produce Request For Quotation (RFQs) for Procurement ensuring accurate enquiries are made for material and services. Produce Purchase Requisitions (PRs) for manufacturing related activities when required. Produce and review internal Work Instructions to assist manufacture when required. Assist with development of processes and procedures including the manufacturing management plan and internal management system (IMS). Produce Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) to manage change through Framatome Ltd's Engineering department. Produce and assist with Internal NCRs and Observations when required, as well as providing assistance for closure. Co-ordination and delivery of Internal Kick-Off Meetings / Constructability reviews for new and existing scopes of work. Conduct Lessons Learnt reviews during/after scope completion as required.

What are we looking for?

Ideal experience for this position would include:

Person specification:

2-3 years proven relevant experience within Manufacturing / Production / Project Engineering. Experience in working to specifications and procedures. Good knowledge of fabrication and welding. Good understanding of 3D modelling software (e.g. SolidWorks). High level of competence in working with Engineering drawings in accordance with BS 8888. High level of competence in MS Office products. Previous experience in a highly regulated industry advantageous. Questioning attitude. Good team working skills. Highly organised with good attention to detail. Good communication and interpersonal skills including influencing and presenting. Ability to work in a team as well as on own initiative with a can-do attitude. Ability to take responsibility for problems within their own remit and to deliver solutions. Results focused with the ability to meet commitments and deadlines. Logical thinking.
