The Manufacturing Engineer role will be responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining all CNC machine programming as well as tooling/fixturing for both CNC and manual machine centers to include lathes, mills, and 5-axis machine centers. The ME role will also participate, and possibly lead, in all Continuous Improvement/Lean/CAPEX projects throughout the plant.

Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• CNC programming:
  • Create, manage, and maintain programs
  • Maximize efficiency of machines
• Waterjet:
  • Create new cut programs as needed daily
  • Maximize cut sheets to decrease scrap
• Work Instructions:
  • Create or update work instructions for each manufacturing process
  • Create or update routings and Production BOMs
  • Answer questions from the shop
  • Assist with training new hires in the shop
• Molds and Tooling:
  • Manage all molds in good working condition and quantity
  • Design jigs and fixtures per Production needs
• Test Lab:
  • Support test technician for pump setup and tests
  • Work on R&D projects
  • Assist with RGA (Returned Goods Authorization) evaluations
• Continuous Improvement/LEAN:
  • Prepare CAPEX and ROI for business approval and track approved CAPEX projects
  • Look into new technology of components within our process
  • Lead and implement dual sourcing strategy for all key materials

Utilize LEAN/Six Sigma tools to improve efficiency and workflows in our shop.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Thorough knowledge of metal cutting tools and applications
• Solidworks/Camworks program creation
• Strong knowledge of workholding/fixturing for lathes and mills
• Strong knowledge of appropriate feeds and speeds for fiberglass, stainless steel, and other materials
• Strong knowledge of CAPEX and ROI analysis
• Ability to assist in design and machining of special fixtures for materials testing
• Preferred: Green Belt certification or better in Continuous Improvement/Lean projects
• Some travel to another plant or customer sites to assist in ME tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field is preferred
• Familiarity with Mazak and Haas machines/controls
• Good people skills

• Team player who can assume an indirect leadership role as needed

• Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with ERP systems like ADP, Epicor, and/or D365 is beneficial

• Engineering and Technology - Knowledge of practical application of engineering science and technology
• Design - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production
• Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs and uses

• English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language
