Job description

An exciting new opportunity has become available within the Engineering function at the Manufacturing, Prototype, and Development facility.

Salary: Circa £43,500 depending on experience

Hybrid working: 4/5 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team, after the offer stage.

The role:

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will handle technical aspects of PCBA, working on low volume high mix early development PCBA, maturing designs for transition to serial production, and medium volume low mix production PCBA.

This role offers growth opportunities within manufacturing, focusing on development into future areas such as Industrial Validation, manufacturing architecture, and factory of the future principles.

You will work on multiple projects and tasks, including:

  • Supporting Continuous Improvement activities
  • Supporting the Non-Conformance Process
  • Interfacing with design authority during prototype/development to ensure optimized Design for Manufacture (DfM)
  • Developing manufacturing methods, processes, and equipment for robust production
  • Building relationships with stakeholders and suppliers
  • Writing and reviewing manufacturing instructions
  • Managing design changes and BOMs
  • Resolving shop floor issues
  • Performing PFMEAs

Requirements:

  • Technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21
  • HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject
  • BEng/BSc in relevant Engineering/Technical Degree
  • Experience in Circuit Card Manufacturing
  • Knowledge of PCBA processes and technologies
