Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer - 6 Month Contract

Location: Stafford

Rate:
PAYE: GBP 30.55/hour
Umbrella: GBP 41.07/hour

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 6 months (with potential to extend)

Hours: 37 hours/week (Monday to Thursday 07:15-16:30, occasional Friday/Saturday/Sunday overtime)

About The Role

We are seeking a hands-on, driven Manufacturing Engineer to support increasing production volumes and the launch of a new engine series. This role offers the opportunity to impact high-profile manufacturing projects, focusing on assembly process optimization, line balancing, and tooling improvements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support production, quality, and safety compliance across manufacturing processes
2. Drive volume ramp-up and line readiness for new product introductions, notably the 5000 engine series
3. Create and implement process documentation and standard work
4. Lead time studies and line balancing
5. Specify, develop, and implement tooling and fixturing solutions
6. Analyze engineering changes and implement process adjustments
7. Engage in continuous improvement and lean initiatives
8. Conduct safety inspections and promote a strong HSE culture
9. Support and lead problem-solving activities in the production environment

Key Requirements

1. 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering environment (2 years acceptable with strong assembly expertise)
2. Strong skills in process definition and documentation
3. Experience in time balancing and work content studies
4. Tooling and fixturing design experience
5. Confident communicator with a proactive, see-act approach
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP or MES systems is a plus
7. Degree or equivalent experience required
8. IOSH Managing Safely certification is desirable
