Job description

Imagine yourself… Doing meaningful work that makes an everyday impact on the world around you. Growing your expertise and expanding your skillset with every project. Thriving in a supportive team environment that inspires you to strive for excellence. It's possible with a role at Linx Printing Technologies (www.linxglobal.com). Linx, a Veralto company, is a leading global provider of coding and marking solutions for date and batch coding of products and packaging across manufacturing industries.

As part of the Linx team and the broader Veralto network, you'll work with products that make an everyday impact on the food, medicine, and essentials we all rely on — and along the way, you'll have the chance to make your mark and own your ambition with valuable career growth opportunities.

At Linx, we know that innovation and ingenuity starts with prioritizing a diverse workforce and a deeply inclusive workplace. We encourage people from all backgrounds to apply to our positions.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for owning the stability, capability and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment, leading technical problem solving on the shop floor, and supporting new product introduction and change control — all while gaining exposure across our full manufacturing operation.

This role is based on site in St Ives, Cambridgeshire.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Rotating across our printer cell, print head cell and fluids plant to build broad, hands‑on knowledge of the full Linx manufacturing business.
  • Responding in real time to production issues — prioritizing keeping the lines running, then digging into root cause and countermeasures.
  • Owning and maintaining process documentation, including work instructions, control plans, PFMEA and standard work.
  • Identifying and implementing tangible improvements to cycle time, throughput, ergonomics and cost — not just spotting opportunities, but seeing them through to completion.
  • Carrying out equipment maintenance and upkeep using TPM techniques, and providing manufacturing input into NPD/NPI and engineering change control.
  • Building credibility and buy‑in with operators and production teams to bring your improvement ideas to life on the shop floor.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Previous success in a fast‑paced manufacturing or engineering environment — experience may include Maintenance Engineering, Design Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Engineering qualification (degree or HND) or relevant experience (+3 years).
  • Ability to understand complex technical problems quickly and develop robust, practical solutions, with the capability to take ideas through to implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and create mechanical solutions — tooling, jigs, fixtures, test equipment or improved production processes.
  • Strong practical skills and confidence working directly with equipment, operators and manufacturing cells to resolve issues.
  • Passion for continuous improvement, with a track record of identifying waste and improving productivity and right‑first‑time performance.

Linx is proud to be part of the Product Quality & Innovation segment of Veralto (NYSE: VLTO), a $5B global leader dedicated to ensuring access to clean water, safe food and medicine, and trusted essential goods.

When you join Veralto's vibrant global network of 17,000 associates, you join a unique culture and work environment where purpose meets possibility: where the work you do has an everyday impact on the resources and essentials we all rely on, and where you'll have valuable opportunities to deepen your skillset, pursue your ambitions, and grow your career.

Together, we're Safeguarding the World's Most Vital Resources™ — and building rewarding careers along the way.
