Alcoa Europe in Exeter, UK is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Manufacturing Engineering team, reporting to the Team Lead. The role involves supporting on-site CNC, EDM, Waterjet, and automated operations to improve and qualify processes.

You will develop and verify CNC/EDM/Waterjet and robot programs, design tooling, and implement new automation while supporting EH&S and capital project justifications.

Formación

• Minimum of a HNC or equivalent in an Engineering discipline.
• Five years' relevant engineering experience.
• Proficient in CNC Milling; CAM is an advantage (Heidenhain Controls).
• Proficient in CAD; Siemens NX an advantage.
• Good understanding of tooling and fixture design.
• Experience trouble-shooting mechanical systems (pneumatics, tooling, measurement feedback systems).
• Good understanding of engineering drawings and automation systems.
• High level of computer literacy (Word/Excel/Project).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Candidates with a degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering may be considered.
• Advantageous experience: CMM programming (Renishaw Modus) and robot programming (Yaskawa or Fanuc).

Responsabilidades

Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering team, reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Team Lead.

This position will be responsible for.

• Providing support for manufacturing processes on site inc. CNC, EDM, Waterjet and Automated operations
• Providing support for manufacturing to improve existing processes
• Qualifying new products on existing manufacturing equipment, internally and with the customer
• Developing automated manufacturing processes

Main Responsibilities

• Create, verify, and release programs for CNC, EDM & Waterjet Machines
• Create, verify, and release robot programs for automated cells
• Design and deliver tooling and fixtures for manufacturing processes
• Develop and implement new advanced manufacturing equipment and automation
• Support justification of capital funding requests
• Reduce costs and improve current manufacturing techniques
• Creating supporting documentation for CNC, EDM, Waterjet & Automated operations (SOP and EMS)
• Support the identification and implementation of new manufacturing technology
• Responsible for program storage, data back-ups and revision control for manufacturing equipment
• Implement and support EH&S activities

Qualifications

• Minimum of a HNC or equivalent in an Engineering discipline
• A minimum of five years' relevant experience within an engineering environment
• Proficient in CNC Milling, CAM an advantage (Heidenhain Controls)
• Proficient in CAD, Siemens NX an advantage
• Good understanding of tooling and fixture design
• Experience trouble-shooting mechanical systems (pneumatics, tooling, measurement feedback systems)
• Good understanding of engineering drawings
• Knowledge of automation systems
• High level of computer literacy (Word/Excel/Project)
• Good judgment and decision making
• Communication and team working skills
• Candidates with less experience may be considered with a degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering. A relevant degree in Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous.
