Job summary

HRC Recruitment is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I in Glasgow to join a busy manufacturing environment. The role focuses on improving processes, productivity, quality and efficiency, while working hands-on with production, engineering and quality teams to identify problems and implement improvements.

You will drive root-cause analyses, participate in Lean projects and help ensure safe, efficient, and consistent manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

  • This role requires a qualification in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Improve manufacturing processes, productivity and efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve production issues and process bottlenecks.
  • Analyse production data, downtime, waste and quality performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing projects.
  • Investigate root causes of quality and process issues.
  • Support the introduction of new equipment, processes and products.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing procedures and work instructions.
  • Work closely with production and maintenance teams to improve equipment performance.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste, cost and energy usage.
  • Support health, safety, quality and environmental standards.

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a busy manufacturing environment and play a key role in improving processes, productivity, quality and efficiency.

This is a hands-on role working closely with production, engineering and quality teams to identify problems, implement improvements and help ensure manufacturing processes operate safely, efficiently and consistently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Improve manufacturing processes, productivity and efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve production issues and process bottlenecks.
  • Analyse production data, downtime, waste and quality performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing projects.

About You

You will ideally have a qualification in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline, together with experience in a manufacturing environment.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Practical and hands-on.
  • Analytical and confident working with data.
  • Experienced in problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • A strong communicator who works well with production teams.
  • Proactive and comfortable taking ownership of projects.
  • Interested in improving processes, quality and efficiency.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, root-cause analysis or process improvement would be advantageous.
