Job description

An automotive component manufacturer with multiple sites in the UK and the West Midlands is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to provide support to current production lines. The ideal candidate will have experience in automotive manufacturing, specifically with exterior or interior trim products.

Duration: Fixed-term contract for several months

The Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include:

1. Planning and implementing new products and modifications to manufacturing processes.
2. Managing suppliers effectively.
3. Overseeing project timelines and complex assembly system management.
4. Supporting the quality department to resolve customer concerns using 8D methodology.
5. Completing PFMEA, process flows, and standard operating procedures.
6. Generating layout and process flow diagrams.

The Person

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level in a mechanical or manufacturing discipline or possess significant experience in a first-tier automotive environment. Key experience includes:

• Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with manufacturing lines that rely heavily on complex IT systems.
• Experience working in a just-in-time (JIT) environment.
