Continuous Improvement Engineer

Kepak Group is a prominent global food company, committed to delivering high-quality meat products to retailers and food service entities. Our Merthyr Tydfil site is a vibrant hub of beef and lamb processing, where we pride ourselves on offering not just prime cuts but also a genuine connection to the local farming community.

As a Continuous Improvement Engineer, you'll be stepping into a role that not only values your technical skills but also your passion for innovation and efficiency. In this exciting full-time position, you'll work 12h day shifts on a 4 on/4 off rotation, ensuring our operations run seamlessly while making a tangible impact on our production processes.

What You’ll Do:

Your mission will be to champion continuous improvement, ensuring that our processes are finely tuned and safety is at the forefront of everything we do. From identifying improvement projects to optimizing maintenance schedules, you'll be a key player in our engineering team.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the implementation of safe operating procedures for contractors.
  • Uphold and promote health and safety standards across the site.
  • Proactively report hazards to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Develop and manage PPM schedules through predictive and diagnostic maintenance techniques.
  • Initiate improvement plans that deliver real results!
  • Oversee the engineering training budget and conduct training for our team.
  • Lead and implement exciting Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Prepare weekly progress reports to keep our teams informed.
  • Collaborate closely with operations to enhance performance and optimize processes.
  • Support the engineering team to hit budget targets while ensuring efficient material use.
  • Drive root cause analyses and foster a culture of long-term solutions.
  • Maintain high-quality hygiene and housekeeping standards.
  • Assist with emergency breakdown repairs and the installation of new equipment.
  • Provide coaching and technical guidance to peers and apprentices.
  • Stay aligned with all company policies and procedures.
  • Take on other duties as required – your flexibility is key!
