Our client is a supplier of bespoke components to major OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers. They are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer specializing in forging processes to join their growing Manufacturing Engineering department. This position offers an excellent opportunity to be part of a global manufacturing leader and play a key role in developing and optimizing manufacturing processes in a high-precision environment.

Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and optimize forging processes for superalloy fasteners, including hot and cold forging techniques.
  • Specify and commission forging dies, tooling, and equipment to meet aerospace standards.
  • Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to ensure efficient manufacturing processes.
  • Produce process documentation such as routings, work instructions, and SOPs.
  • Investigate and resolve production issues using root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Lead process capability studies and support FMEAs and risk assessments.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction, yield improvement, and quality enhancement initiatives.
  • Support capital projects and new equipment for forging operations.
  • Provide technical support and training to shop floor personnel.
Skills and Experience
  • Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or extensive relevant experience through apprenticeship.
  • Strong background in forging processes, preferably in aerospace or defense sectors.
  • Familiarity with superalloys.
  • Understanding of materials behavior, deformation, and heat treatment.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards such as AS9100 and NADCAP.
  • Problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification or knowledge.
