Position Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer position is a hands-on role supporting ACT's Production group. The position involves a variety of engineering tasks including product development, manufacturing transitions, detailed understanding of customer requirements, manufacturing tooling design, process development, procedures and travelers, cycle time analysis, project scheduling, customer interaction, and budget management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Transition programs from Product Development to Manufacturing to meet customer requirements.
  • Design and manufacture tooling to support manufacturing processes.
  • Support the development of manufacturing procedures and travelers.
  • Support product manufacturing ramp-up and production schedules.
  • Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends related to customer requirements and costs.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing workflows, floor space, and equipment layout.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to manufacture required components. Generate and approve purchase orders.
  • Establish and document work plans for engineers and technicians.
  • Assist and provide guidance to production staff in fabrication and testing to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Evaluate and report test results.

Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering (non-technical degrees may not be accepted)
  • Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks.
  • Experience with LabVIEW software and Excel databases.
  • Experience in mechanical inspection and understanding of GD&T.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) due to ITAR restrictions.
