Job summary

Echelon Engineers Limited is seeking a Production & Manufacturing Engineer at management level in Lincolnshire, joining a growing, privately owned industrial group with 12-13 companies across the UK and Europe.

You will have a dual remit: drive efficiency on current production lines and lead the specification, tendering and oversight of new manufacturing lines for three new product streams, reporting directly to the Managing Director and sitting in the leadership team.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Proven background in production or manufacturing engineering.
• Hands-on experience improving production line efficiency.
• Management-level capability with shop-floor and board-level engagement.
• Strong project management and ability to handle multiple workstreams.
• Excellent communication skills for boardroom and shop floor.
• Commercial awareness including capex and supplier negotiations.

Echelon Engineers is working exclusively with a well-established and rapidly growing manufacturing business in Lincolnshire to appoint a Production & Manufacturing Engineer at management level.

Our client is a specialist manufacturer with over 40 years of heritage, operating as part of a wider privately owned group of 12-13 industrial companies across the UK and Europe. The business has significantly grown output in recent years and is now expanding into three new product lines alongside its core manufacturing operation - representing a major step-change in the scale and complexity of what they produce.

This is a genuinely exciting time to join. You will have a dual remit: improving efficiency on existing production processes and taking a leading role in specifying and overseeing new manufacturing lines for the new product streams. This hire sits at management level within a leadership team of six, reporting directly to the Managing Director.

What We Are Looking For

Essential:

• Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related discipline
• Proven background in production or manufacturing engineering
• Hands-on experience improving production line efficiency and specifying new manufacturing processes
• Practical, factory-floor approach alongside the ability to operate at management level
• Strong project management capability - comfortable managing multiple concurrent workstreams
• Excellent communication skills - able to engage at board level and with shop floor teams
• Commercially aware, with experience contributing to capex planning and supplier negotiations

Desirable:

• Experience in timber processing, agricultural machinery, FMCG, food manufacturing, or a similar process-driven environment
• Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement qualification
• Experience in a growing SME or turnaround environment
