Job Opportunity: Manufacturing Engineer

On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer for an initial 12-month contract. The role involves working within the unit & missile assembly manufacturing facility to ensure products are built efficiently and within budget.

Role Details
  • Position: Manufacturing Engineer
  • Pay: £34 - £36 per hour via Umbrella
  • Location: Stevenage
  • Contract: Monday - Friday, 37 hours/week, 12 months
  • IR35 Status: Inside
  • Security Clearance: SC required, can start on BPSS
Responsibilities
  • Compilation and updating of Manufacturing Instructions
  • Design, commissioning, and proving of associated tooling
  • Supporting industrial validation processes using FMEA, FAI, etc.
  • Resolving technical problems during manufacturing
  • Managing route card changes and rework activities
  • Managing configuration control through design modifications in manufacturing instructions
  • Supporting Non-Conformance processes using SAP
Essential Skills
  • Formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 and Level 3 (ONC) or HNC or equivalent with engineering experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in an engineering discipline
  • Ability to interpret design drawings to produce manufacturing build instructions for skilled and semi-skilled operators
  • Experience with electronic sub-assembly manufacture up to system level builds
  • Knowledge of assembly processes for small/miniature electro-mechanical actuation systems
  • Ability to work within and contribute to a team environment
  • Understanding customer requirements and responding appropriately
  • Knowledge of company processes and procedures
  • Effective communication skills at various organizational levels
