Job Description

  • Responsible for the translation of Design Engineering data and specifications into clear and concise work instructions for manufacturing assemblies or product to customer and regulatory authority requirements.
  • Accountable for the maintenance, development and compilation of detail packages of work and Conditions of Supply for external manufacture with suppliers.
  • Responsible for Continuous Improvement to achieve significant productivity and quality improvements by:


  • Analysing and eliminating waste (eight wastes).
  • Developing and implementing production smoothing methods and Kanban systems.
  • Identifying and implementing methods to reduce set-up and overall cycle times.
  • Effective use of problem-solving tools and techniques.
  • Collaborate with Design to identify and implement cost reduction initiatives and product quality improvements.


  • Responsible for optimising assembly methods to increase efficiency, reduce non- conformance and improve the overall quality of our products.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of visible controls, measurement tools and business support systems alongside the production team.
  • Responsible for checking and acceptance of new and modified design models and drawings as approved signatories.
  • Responsible for the creation, maintenance and auditing of Manufacturing Engineering processes.
  • Assisting with product audits, identifying and implementing corrective actions and managing the close out of customer non-conformances.
  • Responsible for the identification of training and development requirements of Manufacturing Engineering staff through the PDR process.
  • Responsible for the compilation and presentation of Manufacturing Engineering input at design reviews, both internal and external and the subsequent Manufacturing Engineering actions identified.
  • Responsible for conducting Vendor assessment of the capabilities of potential suppliers.


39 Hours/Week

Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 17:00

Friday 08:00 - 16:00

The Successful Applicant

You will be an experienced Manufacturing/Production/Process Improvement Engineer from a manufacturing background, along with:

  • A recognised Engineering qualification (E.g HNC)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality control concepts
  • Lean Tools understanding & experience deploying - e.,g. 5Y/8D
  • Injection mould process experience would be desirable
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
