Manufacturing Engineer Precision

Are you a Production or Manufacturing Engineer from a Precision Manufacturing background looking for an exciting opportunity in Gloucestershire?

Then get in touch! Kingston Barnes has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer for one of our clients in Gloucestershire

The Role:

  • Process optimization and continuous improvement to drive operational efficiency
  • Project manage improvements, initiatives to improve machine shop OEE, recovery hours & reduce NCRs & tooling cost.
  • Evaluating manufacturing processes. Testing new and existing production procedures
  • Developing effective automated and non-automated systems
  • Problem solves challenges in the manufacturing process, new product introductions, optimise CNC programs and routings.
  • Review/write standard operating procedures to keep the machine shop updated on latest safe & efficient process on metal cutting.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes to improve quality, efficiency and speed
  • Introducing lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste and streamline workflows through set up reductions, machine cutting parameter & tooling reviews
  • Study production and machine requirements for new parts
  • Develop and test effective automated and manual systems
  • Design and install / project manage new Capex equipment
  • Organize and manage manufacturing workflows and resources
  • Integrate disparate systems (e.g. equipment handling, transport)
  • Resolve issues and delays in production
  • Find ways to reduce costs and maximize quality
  • Train staff in new and existing processes
  • Collaborate with other engineers, contractors and suppliers
  • Ensure that manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations
  • Upgrade systems and processes with new technology
  • Interfacing between operations and engineering on manufacturing issues, ensuring corrective actions are made as quickly and economically as possible and facilitating effective root cause analysis and implementation of actions to prevent recurrence

Qualifications and Experience

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design
  • From a precision manufacturing background/CNC Background
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques
  • Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations
  • Well-versed in relevant software (e.g. CAD, MS Office)
  • Project management skills
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Teamwork skills
  • Proven experience in manufacturing or production engineering
