We're seeking a forward-thinking Manufacturing Engineer to join our client's high-performance team at their Derby facility. As the Manufacturing Engineer you'll contribute to the design, development, and optimisation of complex aerospace components that power the future of flight.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes for aerospace components.
  • Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to ensure manufacturability, efficiency, and compliance with aerospace standards.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and technology transfers into production.
  • Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process-related issues.
  • Create and maintain work instructions, process flows, and documentation in accordance with AS9100 and other regulatory standards.
  • Lead or support cost reduction, yield improvement, and automation initiatives.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in a Manufacturing Engineer, ideally within the aerospace or precision engineering sector.
  • Strong understanding of machining, assembly, and special processes used in aerospace component production.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Experience working within an AS9100-certified environment. (Desirable)
  • Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and SPC techniques. (Desirable)
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional registration. (Desirable)
